Building Permit Application & Information
About the Process:
Before filling out a building permit, be sure to read the application requirements for the type of building you are doing. This will tell you everything you will need in order to submit your application. Once you have everything that you need, fill out the application and return it to the Clinton Township office along with any additional paperwork that is required. The office will give the permit application to the MDIA inspector, who will make sure everything is in order and determine the MDIA fee. When your permit is ready, you will receive a call from the township. When you come to pick up your permit, you will need to have 2 checks with you. One will be for the MDIA inspection fee, determined by the inspector. The other will be for the township zoning fee. For residential permits, the zoning fee is $2 per $1,000 of building cost with a minimum fee of $50.
If you have any questions about inspections, call MDIA Inspector Clyde Volk on weekday mornings at 1-800-323-6342.
If you have any questions about the permitting process, call the office at 724-352-9000 or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
